What You Can Do

Your privacy is yours to protect.  You must take charge and do what you can because no one else will do this for you.  Pardon me if you are so wealthy you can hire a personal security firm to look after things -- this website is for the other 99.9% of us.

Surveillance has many benefits for business, government and the military.  It has always existed and will probably always continue to exist.  Very recently, technology has made surveillance much easier to do.  This has broadened the scope of what is possible, who can be watched, and what can be discovered.

They are trying to find out:

Your identity
Your location
Your places, and when you visit them
Your habits
Your family, friends, acquaintances and associates
Your financial status
Your likes, dislikes, attitudes, and beliefs
Your ideas about religion and politics
What you intend to do

How do they do it?  That is a very technical question and the answers are changing rapidly. The technology is constantly improving The pages in this section highlight selected technologies and, more importantly, what you can do to protect yourself.
